So, you want to make a flax fish? Here are some step-by-step instructions on just how to do so. This looks great!

1: Take two strips of flax about 2cm wide and 40-50cm long.
Wrap one of these strips around the first two fingers of your left hand.
Then slip the second strip through your fancy loop as shown here.
Be sure that you tuck the new piece BEHIND the loop you’ve made. Then bring the strip to the position shown here.

2: This same troublesome second strip is now carried over one strip and pushed through the original loop. As shown in diagram.
If you are still going at this point, you are doing extraordinarily well and deserve a medal!

3: Pulling on the ends of all the strips now tightens the knot

4: Turn the knot over and fold strip 1, as shown in diagram.

5: NOW……… Fold strip 2 (labelled in diagram) on itself and under strip 3. (Keep going, you’re almost finished!)
NB: strip 1 will have to be moved in order to do this

6: Your little creation should now look like a little fish.
Does it?  If so, you’re finished!!!
