<typohead type="2">Report</typohead>

1. The EPMF, in line with its Mission Statement of "Presbyterians taking the Good News to the World", has enjoyed another fruitful year, focusing on its core task in seeking to promote prayer and active support for the many New Zealand Presbyterians who serve on the "front line" or in full time support roles in various home lands.

2. This year our small committee has concentrated in seeking further ways we can do our part in raising missionary awareness among Presbyterians and parishes through promotion, prayer and information in conjunction with the Presbyterian Church´s Global Mission Office. Our prayer request insert with each edition of the Global Mission Gazette supplements our monthly Prayer Digest which we continue to e-mail to parishes and individuals who wish to receive up-to-date prayer fuel for private or congregational use. This same e-mail facility is available to pass on urgent or crisis requests from our overseas missionaries. If you wish to be included in this Prayer Digest please e-mail Bob Grey at bobg(at)nznet.gen.nz to be placed on the mailing list.

3. We have revised and maintained our Missionary Display board which we make available for Parishes wanting to use it for special weekend mission events. This board highlights a number of parishes and their efforts in furthering and supporting missionaries.

4. As well as receiving news and information from the various Presbyterians serving as both missionary and/or aid workers, we seek to keep contact with them through an "Annual Pastoral letter". We also work to encourage parishes to develop their own Missionary support groups and individuals within those groups to establish their own personal relationships with folk serving abroad. With e-mail now making communication so fast, closer connections with missionaries can be developed by people at home.

5. Our prayer for the forthcoming year is that we might enjoy an even closer relationship with the Global Mission Office, and that together we will see increased and stronger bonds built up with Presbyterians in service both at home and aboard in the promulgation of the gospel.
