Locum Ecumenical Hospital Chaplain Palmerston North Hospital

24 October to 30 June 2005

Applications are sought for this full-time, ecumenically-funded, temporary locum chaplaincy position at Palmerston North Hospital in the MidCentral DHB. This position is being offered on the basis of a fixed-term of eight months.

The position would suit a semi-retired or other clergy person experienced in hospital chaplaincy, parish or other relevant ministry positions, who is looking for a challenge until 30 June 2005 .

The successful applicant will become the full-time chaplain in a busy chaplaincy team, with two part-time chaplains and a team of chaplaincy assistants, providing Christian ministry, spiritual and emotional support and pastoral care to patients, their families and staff.

The ability to provide spiritual, emotional and pastoral care to people with a range of health needs and from a variety of cultural and religious backgrounds, and to fully participate in a multi-disciplinary healthcare team, consistent with Treaty of Waitangi principles is absolutely essential.

Christian World Service Youth and Schools Coordinator

Christian World Service (CWS) takes action to end poverty and injustice throughout the world. We support development programmes in over 20 countries, respond to emergency situations and educate New Zealanders about global poverty.

We are currently seeking to appoint to a full-time position in our national office based in Christchurch a

Youth and Schools Coordinator

The successful applicant will be responsible for implementing Christian World Service’s youth and schools work programme. This will include producing educational materials designed for use by children and young people, and developing and managing a fund raising programme with a youth focus. S/he will also need to maintain good working relationships with church youth leaders and schools throughout the country.

The successful applicant will be supportive of the ethos of Christian World Service and experienced in working with young people.
