The other day I came across this in a book:
Important words!
<typolist>
The five most important words are: You did a great job
The four most important words are: What is your opinion?
The three most important words are: Let’s work together
The two most important words are: Thank You
The single most important word is: We

As communications manager for the Global Mission Office, I find these words very valuable in all the work I do in and through this office. I am encouraged by the efforts of individuals both overseas and within New Zealand who have made an impact for mission in the last year - You did a great job. It is important to us to know what you are thinking and feeling about mission so, What is your opinion? Don’t hesitate to contact us – our doors are open. Let’s work together – When Christians work together, they divide the effort and multiply the effect. So, Thank you, for all your encouragement and support. Together, We can help to make a world of difference.
<typohead type="4">Communicating is a cooperative effort! </typohead>
Our aim through the GMO is to establish a more cooperative relationship between the GMO and parishes/groups/individuals within New Zealand about overseas mission. Our sincere belief is that if we combine our efforts at a national level, we will be able to make a far bigger impact at the local level overseas. The means by which the Global Mission Office shares some of its interests are:
Global Mission Gazette – This newsletter shares the mission stories, reflections, testimonials and updates of Kiwi Presbyterians serving overseas. We have over 70 Kiwi Presbyterians serving abroad with whom we are in touch. The next Global Mission Gazette is about to come off the press and be posted to those who have subscribed. In this edition we highlight some of the “FAQs” we anticipate some will have regarding the current changes within the National Church . It is all good news, as it is “mission as usual” for us. The only significant change is our new contact details (PLEASE MAKE NOTE!):
Global Mission Office
1/22 Station Road
Otahuhu, Auckland
Phone: (09) 276 4313
We also say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has supported and is supporting the work and efforts in and through the GMO. So many of you have helped carry the torch for mission through some of the darkest years of the life of the church, and there is no desire to snuff the light out now either. We look forward to continued partnership in mission with you all. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us…
Global Cent$ boxes - In May 2004, we re-launched what was the 'Mission Box Scheme'. Under the fresh name of 'Global Cent$', we hope that the new colourful box will revive interest in mission right down to the household level in our Church. There are still boxes available. If you would like some please do not hesitate to contact us.
Mission Associate Scheme – If you wish to make contact with any of the ‘Kiwi Presbyterians Serving Abroad’ or partner churches and/or projects listed in the pages of the Global Mission Gazette (unless in a high security risk region), please contact us at the Global Mission Office. Anybody within the Presbyterian Church – be they individual, congregation, APW or youth group – can ask to have information and/or be linked with a person/community/activity overseas unless there are security risks involved. Some of these ‘ Kiwi Presbyterians Serving Abroad ’ are also profiled on the web. Contact of this kind is very much appreciated and both parties benefit by keeping in touch.
Global Opportunities – The GMO has a list of opportunities to GIVE , GO and Special Appeals . These lists are available from the gazette or the website. These are opportunities for your whole parish to consider and act upon. If someone within your parish is interested in being a part of one of these opportunities, please contact us.
Our Website – if you have access to the internet you may be able to keep up to date more often by visiting our website from time to time. We make updates frequently and from time to time include new items of interest as well. We also have heaps of information on the areas we have invested interest in. http://www.presbyterian.org.nz/?id=21
Contact us – contact us at any time with questions you may have or requests for information. We will endeavour to reply to the best of our ability.

GMO Library – we have a small resource library of books, videos, CDs and other helpful materials on mission, which is now available online at (http://www.presbyterian.org.nz/?id=3268). Some of this information may be helpful to you. Please feel free to seek these out and make inquiries. A hard copy of what is accessible will be available soon.
We invite you to make use of any of the information resources highlighted above. If you are aware of any Kiwi Presbyterian missionaries serving abroad who are not appearing in our newsletters, please let us know and we will make contact with them.
We look forward to partnering with you in mission.
Blessings,
Lori
