Kathryn has been involved in prison ministry for over 30 years.  She is involved with an outreach from her English speaking church, to the foreign inmates at Chiang Mai Central Prison and the local police stations. There are foreign (non-Thai) prisoners and she is able to visit them for an hour twice a week. Much of her work involves use of the Thai language, speaking with prison officials, police, and assisting with court translation.
