About the Moderator designate

Graham is the current Principal of the School of Ministry in Dunedin and from January 2008 will be the Director of the newly established Knox Centre for Ministry and Leadership. Prior to taking up this role, Graham spent six years as Minister at St John’s-in-the-City in Wellington and nine years as Minister at Somervell Presbyterian Church in Auckland. He is married to Jenni, who is an accountant, and has three teenage children, Oliver, Jordan and Melanie.

Graham is the author of a book about the mediating role of Christ in acts of prayer and worship. In this book Graham addresses a concern he came to have in parish ministry that when those who are given responsibility for the conduct of worship fail to grasp the significance of the mediating role of Christ there are far-reaching implications.

Graham brings his interest in the theology of prayer and worship to his job at the School of Ministry. From 2008 he will be the lecturer in worship and theological reflection. In 2007 he was invited to deliver an address to a consultation organized by the World Alliance of Reformed Churches. The subject of his address was “Global Challenges That Affect Theological Education Today”. He is passionate about the task of ministry formation and leadership development.
