Dr. George Graetzer was a Roman Catholic Austrian Jewish Refugee who was appointed the principal Doctor at Kong Chuen Hospital for the South China Mission in 1940.  Upon internment of the New Zealand Mission staff he remained to run the hospital.  He came with his wife, Mrs Grete Graetzer, to New Zealand to live in 1949.

Included in this file is : Personal and official letters and correspondence concerning his appointment to Kong Chuen Hospital, a published account of his life (to c.1940), and letters relating to their arrival in New Zealand and deputation work.
