Go to the UN in 2016 with Presbyterian Women

Presbyterian Women invites applications from those wishing to be a self-funded member of the 2016 Presbyterian Women of Aotearoa NZ Delegation to the United Nations.

Presbyterian Women has consultative status with the United Nations body responsible for initiatives for the advancement of women.  As a member of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), Presbyterian Women has a responsibility to be represented to evaluate progress, set standards and formulate policies to promote gender equality and the advancement of women worldwide.

CSW60 (2016) the sixtieth session of the Commission on the Status of Women will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 14 to 24 March 2016 (tentative dates). Representatives of member states, UN entities, and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organisations (NGOs) from all regions of the world will attend the session.

  • Priority theme: Women’s empowerment and its link to sustainable development
  • Review theme: The elimination and prevention of all forms of violence against women and girls 
  • Emerging issue: TBA
