My husband, Lindsay, and I live in Bannockburn, Central Otago, where the summer temperatures soar and the winter provides us with spectacular scenery. An invigorating place to live. We have a family of three sons, John and Caro, Richard and Mel all currently living in Wellington and Hamish living in Christchurch. Lindsay and I are both members of Rotary, with Lindsay currently District Governor in the southern half of the South Island. This involves us in a global network of community volunteers and wonderful opportunity to meet and work with people with a heart for others.
I am an Elder in the Presbyterian Church and was involved for in Presbytery and parish work in Southland where we lived for some 30 years before moving to Bannockburn in 2006.
As the Convenor of the APW United Nations committee I am enjoying the challenges and opportunities that the role brings. Gender equality and the empowerment of women yields dividends for the whole human family and it is a privilege for me, as a member of APW, to be involved in this work locally, nationally and internationally.
