What we're about

The vision of PYM is to make Jesus Christ known by

a) offering young people opportunities to grow in their faith in God

b) building healthy Christ-centred youthministries that provide opportunities for networking, training, resourcing and advocacy to all those working in youth ministry

We aim to do this by growing Christ-centred youth ministries that…swirl

...Look IN
     - encourage young people to grow in a Christ-centred faith in God

            ...Look AROUND
                 - encourage young people to grow in Christ-centred communities

      ...Look OUT
           - encourage young people to grow Christ-centred mission hearts to serve

What does the PYM Office do and how can it help me?

There are 400+ parishes in the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand.  Most of them have young people in their church, and many have youth leaders like you helping those young people to grow in their faith in God.  The Presbyterian Youth Ministry office exists to help those youth leaders.  If you’re reading this page, then chances are YOU are one of those leaders.  Specifically, this happens in four ways:

Networking:  We help youth leaders meet other youth leaders in their region and around the country, to support each other and figure out ways to work together.

Resourcing:  We develop resources for youth ministry, and provide access to many others.

Training:  If you want to do some professional training, we work with several organisations that do it well.  We are also available to provide training workshops in your region or church.

Advocacy:  We represent the issues and needs of young people in the Presbyterian Church at a local, regional and national level.  We are also available to act as an advocate for youth leaders and can provide advice.

This website provides information on many of the services we provide.  If you have any further questions, or just want to get in touch, contact the PYM Office - we'd love to hear from you!
