Recordkeeping workshops in Auckland in September

Do you create and keep records for your parish? Want to find out how to manage paper, digital and other records? Interested in making sure the archives and memories of your church are preserved?

Presbyterian Research Centre archivist Eva Garbutt will be holding two workshops for Northern Presbytery parishes on Wednesday 9 September, 7pm at St John’s Presbyterian Church, 120 Great South Road, Papatoetoe, and Thursday 10 September, 7pm at St Giles’ Presbyterian Church, 1 Flanshaw Road, Te Atatu South.

  • What are records, archives and what is recordkeeping?
  • How do we create ‘good’ records and systems to keep them in? This will include considering both paper and digital (on your computer) records and filing systems.
  • How do we look after our physical (paper, photos, objects) and digital (documents, photos) records?
  • What records do we need to keep and which can we get rid of?
  • What options are there for parishes when it comes to archiving records?
