The Uniting Church in Western Australia is seeking a visionary and strategically oriented person to work with the General Secretary to provide collaborative leadership in partnership with Presbytery, Congregations, Caring Agencies and Schools.
Lead a strategic consultation, engagement and execution process to develop a strategic plan with directions for the UCA Synod of Western Australia for the period 2021 to 2024.
Assisting the Council for Mission in its evaluation and feedback on formal Mission Projects
Establishing strategic connections with schools and agencies together with the Executive Officer: Schools and Residential Colleges and Executive Officer: Caring Agencies to align the schools and care agencies with Synod Vision and Purpose.
Any other delegated responsibility from the General Secretary.
The successful applicant will be a member of the UCA WA Synod Executive Team, seeking to support the ministry, mission and planning directions of the whole Church.
Applicants need to be members, or committed to becoming a member, of the Uniting Church in Australia, passionate about and committed to the Church and God’s mission in the world, and, as such, would be a person of prayer with a commitment to Jesus’ call to make disciples. We expect the successful applicant to have a driving desire to make a difference and to have a commitment to work ecumenically.
Applicants must demonstrate the capacity to think strategically and theologically to facilitate strategic discussions within the context of the Church and have the ability to identify opportunities and take action to build long term, productive and strategic relationships with key stakeholders.
A relevant degree and experience in management are essential and B.Theol or equivalent is desirable.
