• Full-Time (1.0 FTE)
• Five-Year Contract
• Magnificent South Perth location
We are a Uniting Church day and boarding school, established in 1923. We provide a caring community, underpinned by strong Christian values, within which our students and staff are encouraged to achieve their individual potential.
The College campus is home to three separate sub-schools, each with a slightly different focus based on the age and development of its individual students. Our Junior School offers a co-educational environment from Pre-kindergarten through to Year 4. The Middle School learning environment is structured to suit early adolescent development and is co-educational in Years 5 and 6 then boys only in Years 7 and 8. The Senior School comprises a boys’ only setting from Years 9 to 12.
The College Chaplain is responsible for leading the spiritual life of the College, providing ministry within the School community to our current and former students, staff, parents and families. The role is ideal for an inspirational faith and spiritual leader, who brings a sense of fun, joy and warmth to their chaplaincy.
We are seeking an ordained Minister of the Word or Deacon of the Uniting Church or other Christian denomination (and willing to be admitted as a Minister in the Uniting Church), or an individual with qualifications and experience relevant to Chaplaincy that are recognised by the Western Australian Synod of the Uniting Church. The successful candidate will support the ethos and values of Wesley College and the Uniting Church, including a liberal open attitude towards people of other faiths and cultures.
Maintaining an active presence on campus, you will participate in the delivery of pastoral care for students and staff both formally and informally. You will prepare and lead worship, services, prayers and reflections for a range of College services and celebrations in a way that is meaningful, engaging, and age appropriate. You will work closely with the Headmaster and school leaders in promoting the holistic learning and spiritual development of Wesley students, including through social justice and service initiatives.
