Church marks Children’s Day with Kids Friendly approach
The Presbyterian Church is marking the theme of Children’s Day 2012, “treasure our children”, with events around the country for children and their families.

Over the 40 day period of Lent, from 22 Feb to 8 April, PresCare invites congregations to focus on our shared concern for the wellbeing of children and families. This week all congregations are being sent Lenten booklets which focus on these themes through a series of reflections.
Applications close 29 February for PSDS $10,000 Ministry and Mission Innovation Award
PSDS are seeking applications for the second of four annual Ministry and Mission Innovation Awards for an innovative ministry and/or mission initiative. Your idea needs to be:
Innovative (applies a new idea to a particular issue or need)
Demonstrating leadership and the involvement of others
Expressive of the mission of the Church
A completely separate initiative - not part of an existing or previous programme
Project based
New Asian Ministries coordinator
The Rev Kyoung Gyun, a missionary from the Presbyterian Church of Korea, is our new Asian Ministries coordinator. Kyoung Gyun takes up his role in February and will be based in Auckland. Along with building relationships across our Church he will, over the next three years, have a special focus on the needs of the younger people whose parents immigrated from one or other of the Asian nations represented in our Church’s life and work.

The Rev Don Ikitoelagi appointed Pasifika Misionare
The Rev Don Ikitoelagi has been appointed to the newly created role of Pasifika Misionare.
He will be based in Auckland where he will resource and support the growth and development of the mission and ministry of the Church’s Pacific Island congregations, with a special emphasis on their engagement with younger people.
Don returns to New Zealand after five years with the Synod of Victoria and Tasmania in the Uniting Church in Australia, where he was Director of Cross Cultural Mission and Ministry.

Applications sought for CWM Pacific Region Regional Secretary
A suitable person is sought for the Auckland-based position of CWM Pacific Region Regional Secretary. This role will support and facilitate the individual and shared mission activities of the nine churches in the CWM Pacific region.
