Mithun bovine for Zo Synod

Mithun, a bovine species, is indigenous to the eastern Himalayas and found in the northeastern states of India, parts of Myanmar, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Yunan province of China

  • NZ$3600 per herd (there are six in a herd)
  • NZ$600 for one.  

Mithuns ­have traditionally been a form of currency among the mountain people, exchanged for goods, friendship or alliances, and used to pay fines, ransoms, tributes, and bride-prices.  Today they are needed to support village life.

Community chicken farm

Rat plague

"We can catch hundreds of rats a night, but it makes no difference," said Mgun Ling. "They just keep coming. They've destroyed all our crops, and now we have nothing left to eat." Crisis donations are welcome.

Rat plague: During the last five months ( Jan- May) ,1138 families with 4216 people in 30 villages in the Chin State have been assisted by relief fund from the PCANZ.

Agape Clinic: As we are in the rainy season, a good number of people from Kalay–Kabaw valley, are suffering from topical diseases, and have approached Agape Clinic for medical treatment.  The Clinic is now full of patients.

Boarding House: Leaders of the Lairam Synod have bought an existing two storey wooden building at the heart of Falam town for a boarding house with the support of the PCANZ.

Theological scholarships
