National Mission
The National Mission team work together to promote mission throughout New Zealand. This is done through developing shared direction and the provision of mission and leadership advice, in conjunction with presbyteries and union district councils.
Some of our goals are :
- To help the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand more than ever believe and discover that mission is possible
- To identify, mentor and support key regional and local mission leaders
- To seed, facilitate and nurture initiatives, to identify and release resources, and to connect leaders with opportunities to build mission
- To promote good mission practice across the regions and in the various parts of the wider Church
- To champion and publicise successes in congregational mission and leadership
- To work with presbyteries to focus on wellness in ministry
Mission Possible has three focuses:
- Mission Tools and Practice
- Mission Thinking
- Mission People and Projects
The Rev John Daniel is the National Mission Enabler. John brings a diverse background and mix of gifts to the role of National Mission Enabler. As well as serving and leading in the Church, he has been prominent in business, community and sport. His varied and wide experience has been of great benefit in resourcing mission, developing leadership and enabling healthy congregations, as well as in pastoral ministry, leading change and pioneering new projects.
