Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand, has urged the Government to urgently increase the number of refugees allowed to resettle in New Zealand each year.

The Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand has had its website recognised at the Australasian Religious Press Association (ARPA) awards.

Applications are now open for Training in Mission 2016, a training and formation programme run by the Council for World Mission. Applicants must be aged between 18-30 years and able to spend seven months away from home.

Presbyterian Research Centre archivist Eva Garbutt will be holding two workshops for Northern Presbytery parishes on Wednesday 9 September, 7pm at St John’s Presbyterian Church, 120 Great South Road, Papatoetoe, and Thursday 10 September, 7pm at St Giles’ Presbyterian Church, 1 Flanshaw Road, Te Atatu South.

This Act is currently before Parliament and is likely to be passed into law later this year. This legislation has ramifications for churches due to potential liability in the event of accidents resulting in injury to employees, volunteers and parishioners.
