- About the role:
- Reporting to the Chief Executive, you’ll be the driving force behind the development and implementation of the fundraising, engagement, and marketing strategies that helps bring Bible Society New Zealand’s (BSNZ) mission to life and grow our impact in Aotearoa and around the world.
- Your work will strengthen fundraising efforts, inspire deeper supporter engagement, diversify funding streams, and amplify our brand presence in the community. Leading our existing Fundraising and Engagement function, you’ll work with a skilled, multidisciplinary team, building on their strengths, and exploring new opportunities for even greater impact.
- As part of our Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you’ll collaborate with dedicated senior leaders, champion new ways of working, drive improvement and enhance the way we work, and help take BSNZ’s impact to the next level.
- This is a permanent full-time (37.5 hours) position based in Wiri, Auckland. - What You Will Do:
- Lead, empower and develop the team and ensure they are well supported to succeed in their roles and deliver outcomes
- Shape, develop and rollout the annual fundraising, engagement, and marketing strategies and activities
- Reimagine and deliver a bespoke supporter and donor journey focused on exceptional care, stewardship, and long-term engagement
- Leverage digital tools to boost donor engagement, acquisition, retention, and lifetime value, while attracting a diverse new donor base
- Lead the delivery of our annual mission programmes and calendars
- Design innovative strategies to connect our retail customer to our mission, inspiring them to be part of our story
- Amplify our digital brand presence through effective and impactful campaigns
- Evaluate campaigns and appeals to improve future performance for greater impact
- Build strong relationships across the organisation, including affiliated churches and retail stores –to champion and support their fundraising and sales promotion efforts
- Promote effective use of the fundraising database and analytics to deliver tailor donor experiences, targeted campaigns, and produce quality reports.
What we are looking for:
- Proven senior level experience in fundraising, supporter engagement, communications, or marketing within a not-for-profit environment
- A strategic, future-focused mindset with a track record of delivering successful strategies and plans
- Experience in leading, developing and coaching teams
- Proven success in achieving goals, meeting fundraising targets, and delivering on deadlines
- Experience in successfully delivering campaigns and programmes
- Excellent relationship-building skills, able to connect with a diverse range of people and work effectively across teams
- Empathy for the mission and values of the Bible Society, with an understanding of or alignment to a Christian ethos
- Confidence with technology, including MS Office, Google analytics, digital marketing tools, and social media platforms
- Experience with fundraising CRM databases (i.e. Raiser’s Edge)
