If you are leading a funeral/farewell or supporting a bereaved whānau or family after a suicide loss, these recent free resources from the Mental Health Foundation offer practical advice and very helpful information. The Mental Health Foundation, a respected charity championing mental health, consulted with experienced ministry leaders (including Presbyterians) from a range of Christian churches nationally, as well as celebrants and others, to develop these two resources.

Guidance for faith leaders, celebrants, funeral directors, whānau leaders, kaumātua, or anyone leading a funeral or hui mate for a
person who died by suicide or suspected suicide. It will accompany you as you walk alongside the bereaved whānau through the farewell process, kōrero/talk safely about suicide, and take care of yourself throughout this time.
