Take notice that on the 6th day of October 2026 a Scheme prepared under section 6 of the Presbyterian Church Property Amendment Act 1996 was submitted to a Commission of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand in relation to multiple trusts created by bequest to The Presbyterian Church Property Trustees.
Each trust requires the Trustees to hold and invest the trust capital and apply the income earned for a specific purpose related to that trust. The Trustees hold that in the case of each of these trusts, the amount of trust property is inadequate to carry out the purpose of the trust. That is, after allowing for inflation-proofing and costs, the available income is insufficient to achieve the purpose of each trust.
The name, purpose and capital balance of each trust follows:
| TRUST | PURPOSE | CAPITAL at 31 March 2026 |
| JE Long Estate Trust | Social services and mission within the Auckland District | $77,301 |
| MA Borrie Trust | Māori and Home Missions | $25,704 |
| The Thomas Wyld Pairman Trust | Home Missions | $10,818 |
| Outfields Mission Fund | Evangelism north of the Waitaki River | $81,592 |
| The Robert and Jessie Ramsay Trust | Welfare of children in New Zealand | $28,809 |
| James Anderson Trust | Mission in Hawke's Bay, social services and mission in Hawke's Bay and Poverty Bay, and the needy of St Paul’s Napier | $24,467 |
The scheme proposes to amend the terms of each trust so that the Trustees may apply both the capital and income for the stated purpose of each trust. The Trustees believe that being able to apply both capital and income for the stated purpose of each trust will allow each trust to provide more meaningful financial support and thereby better achieve the purpose of each trust.
In the event that the Scheme is approved, once the funds are transferred to the entity or entities charged with determining how the funds should be used for the stated purpose, each trust will be wound up.
Please note that purpose of each trust and the entities associated with purpose of the trust will not change.
