Read the summer edition of Spanz. In this edition we explore how parishes around the country are sharing the Christmas story with their communities. We profile the life and ministry of Rev Taimoanaifakaofo (Fakaofo) Kaio, who will be presented to the next General Assembly for election as the Church’s Moderator 2018-2020. We also celebrate the achievements of some of the Church’s youngest members including one woman who received a Young Leaders Award from Queen Elizabeth II for her anti-bullying work, and the Mangapapa Union Church youth group which was recognised for raising the most money for World Vision’s 40 Hour Famine (compared to similar groups in the lower North Island). Parishes reaching out to those in need also feature in this edition of Spanz – the Social Socks programme helping Manawatu children to be more caring and resilient, Cashmere Presbyterian’s suicide prevention workshops and the Korean Presbyterian Church in Auckland’s holiday programme for young children. We share a story about how the 3DM movement is taking hold in Christchurch and many other stories of faith, mission and community outreach. Click to download the summer 2017 edition of Spanz.
