Act Leader David Seymour’s “End of Life Choice” bill has just had its first reading in Parliament, where 76 MPs voted in favour and 44 against. The bill will now move to the justice select committee. If passed, the bill provide terminally ill patients with the option of having an assisted death.
The InterChurch Bioethics Council - an ecumenical cross-cultural body supported by the Anglican, Methodist and Presbyterian Churches of Aotearoa New Zealand - is urging Parliament to vote against the “End of Life Choice” bill. Read the ICBC media release here
