Realising a peaceful reunification of Korea would not only be a gift for the Korean people but also for the people of Asia and the world as a whole. For the church, both in and outside Korea, realising a unified Korea will also mean the church being unified in their efforts. Read the full World Council of Churches statement.

For the next several months some Presbyterian and Uniting congregations in Christchurch will be unable to meet due to the ongoing affects of the earthquake, including families being relocated for a time, extensive damage to church buildings and to surrounding roads, workplaces closing due to damage, and ongoing disruption to power and water supplies
