The Rev Don Ikitoelagi has been appointed to the newly created role of Pasifika Misionare.
He will be based in Auckland where he will resource and support the growth and development of the mission and ministry of the Church’s Pacific Island congregations, with a special emphasis on their engagement with younger people.
Don returns to New Zealand after five years with the Synod of Victoria and Tasmania in the Uniting Church in Australia, where he was Director of Cross Cultural Mission and Ministry.

World Council of Churches (WCC) member churches have sent a second shipment of food aid to North Korea. The aid was initiated by the National Council of Churches in Korea (NCCK) with support from South Korean Churches and the North Korean and European members of the Ecumenical Forum on Peace and Security on Korean Peninsula. White Ribbon Day, 25 November, is the international day when people wear a white ribbon to show that they do not condone violence towards women. In this country an average of 14 women a year are killed by their partners or ex-partners. Each year there are over 3,500 convictions against men for assaults on women.
