On 25 October, our new Moderator Rt Rev Peter Dunn had a profile in The Press Christchurch, The Southland Times, and The Waikato Times, "Presbyterian church’s new NZ leader advocates time in ‘the thin places".

General Assembly Review (rescheduled from the previous day)
Rec 026a. Lost: That a task group be formed to expand on the work done in 1998 on models of consensus decision- making and how we could begin to implement this in our life together.
Rec 026b. Lost: That the consensus decision-making task group consult with Te Aka Puahou and the Uniting Church in Australia in the first instance.
Rec 091. Agreed: That the General Assembly Review Group be thanked and discharged.
Leadership Sub-committee
Rec 039. Agreed: That Knox Centre for Ministry and Leadership be given responsibility for the training and the period of probation of a candidate for local ordained ministry, and the Book of Order be amended accordingly.
The legislative changes regarding the Book of Order from the above agreed recommendation were all passed.

Leadership Sub-committee
Rec 040. Carried: That local ordained ministry candidates be assessed using the national assessment selection process.
Rec 041a. Agreed: That the decision of the 2022 Assembly to amend the requirements for the reception of ministers of other denominations to the Ministerial Roll to include "an approved induction programme to be completed within the first year of reception" be fallen from.
Rec 041b. Agreed: That the requirement for 12 months prior membership of a Presbyterian congregation be reinstated for reception of ministers from other denominations to the Ministerial Roll.
Remaining business
Carried: AES moved that all remaining business be moved to the COA: recommendations 074, 075, 076, 068, 082-086.

PCANZ White Ribbon
Watch the PCANZ White Ribbon video address created for the Assembly here or below. The PCANZ theme for White Ribbon Day 25 November is "Sacred Spaces, Sacred Lives". For GA25, PCANZ White Ribbon supplied all Commissioners with PCANZ White Ribbon branded Fair Trade unbleached organic cotton eco tote bags which contained a PCANZ White Ribbon pamphlet and poster. PCANZ White Ribbon will be sending parishes resources for White Ribbon Day 25 November soon, see the website here which will be updated soon.
