Powhiri and Moderator's induction
General Assembly began with a powhiri and opening communion service at Saint Kentigern College chapel, starting 6.30pm on Wednesday 27 September. The induction of the new Moderator Right Rev Rose Luxford began around 7pm and the service involved the transfer of a ceremonial cloak (Te Korowai Tapu) and the laying on of hands by past Moderators. The Moderator of Te Aka Puaho Rev Tamiana Thrupp presented Rose with the Moderator’s Korowai tapu, and Rose signed the Centennial Bible.
