Winter 2015

The winter edition of Spanz magazine explores how the Church is supporting post-cyclone Vanuatu on its long road to recovery and we find out about a Presbyterian defence force chaplain’s Vanuatu mission. We share the story of the Presbyterian minister who was the first chaplain killed at Gallipoli and discover what Presbyterian students learnt on a recent visit to Gallipoli. We celebrate the gifting of church coastal land to the Kaikoura community. We congratulate the Pasifika Community Patrol Group that is helping keep its community safe. We learn how bioethics road shows are encouraging thought and discussion. We rejoice in the voluntary services of a faith nurse to her community. We farewell the Glen Innis managers who retire in June. We share the role in Auckland’s Taiwanese community that one Presbyterian church plays. We reflect on Waitangi Day. We discover how Kids Friendly has gone global. We learn about a southern youth ministry training day. We welcome two new staff to the Knox Centre and a new board for Knox and Salmond colleges. Plus many more stories from throughout our Church.
